I have finally dug out my sweet little masticating juicer, quiet, clean and makes incredible juice! Juicing is an awesome way to boost your micronutrient status, helping the body to function optimally!
Yesterday the sunshine and blue sky encouraged me to get juicing so I rustled up what I fondly call “the Green Supreme”. It was I will add, an absolute delight! Below is guide to make it up at home with your own juicer.
1/4 cucumber
1 very large handful of kale
a whole stem and a few large florettes of broccoli
a handful or parsley
Add the juice of half a lemon just before you enjoy your juice to sharpen
Today I went for an orange theme, “The Power of Orange”.
I have found a place to buy fresh organic turmeric which has been a saviour this winter for many as I have been making up Tatu’s Dawa, an incredible homemade remedy for flus, colds, coughs and general lurgies.
Back to the Power of Orange!
1/4 inch fresh turmeric (you can use 1/4 tsp dried)
1 inch of fresh ginger
1 orange or large tangerine
a handful of red grapes
6 medium carrots
juice of one lemon added afterwards to sharpen
Turmeric has a great deal of press coverage at the moment, the benefits of turmeric are vast and profound and numerous studies have been undergone to asses the efficy of the spice in these studies. I have included an abstract of a medical study to substantiate my claims of turmeric being a strong inflammatory spice. With the majority of Western diseases being driven by inflammatory proccesses one can see how important the reduction of uneeded inflammation is.
