Here is a simple sample 1 day liquid fast with recipes, however please contact me first for a free mini consultation to be sure this is the right choice for you. You can find my contact here.

For this particular menu you will need a good quality high powered blender, I have a vitamix but a good soup making blender well do just fine,  and a juicer, I use a Kurving vertical masticator and love it.

Menu plan:

Hot water with lemon and sea salt

Kale, pear and lemon juice

Butternut, coconut, ginger soup

Banana, date, cashew and cardamom smoothie

Beetroot, red pepper and tomato soup

Recipes:

Kale, pear and lemon juice

300g kale chopped into pieces small enough to squish into the juicer mouth

1/4 inch ginger

2 ripe pears, quartered

1 cup of filtered water

1/2 lemon, juiced

Put the kale into the juicer first, then the ginger then the pears adding a little filtered water as you juice. this ensures that the kale juices well and doesn’t get too stuck. I always pour half a cup of water through the juicer at the end whilst it is still running to ensure it cleans out nicely. Add the lemon to the juice separately, not through the juicer as citrus fruits can cause the juicer to age faster due to their acidic nature.

Lazy Lady’s Butternut, coconut and ginger soup

1 cup of butternut squash, chopped into smallish cubes

1 small red onion, roughly chopped

1 clove of garlic, peeled and left whole

2 cups filtered water

salt and pepper to taste

4 tbsp coconut milk, chose a quality one such as Biona to avoid all the emulsifiers that can often irritate sensitive gut linings

1/4 inch ginger and 4 springs fresh coriander

Pop the first four ingredients into a small cooking pot and boil until the butternut and onion become soft. allow to cool and then transfer into the blender along with the ginger, coriander and coconut milk. blend until smooth and season to taste. I love to add a squeeze of lemon or lime just before serving.

Banana, date, cashew and cardamom smoothie

5 cashews

2 mejool dated, pit removed

1 generous pinch of cardamom powder or 2 cardamom pods

2 cups filtered water

1 medium ripe banana

It is important that this smoothie is made in a high powered blender, if you don’t have one replace the cashew nuts with 1 cup cashew milk and reduce the water to 3/4 of a cup. Blend the first found ingredients for up to 3 minutes until the cashews are smooth and the liquid appears to be like a milk, then add the banana and further blend until smooth. If you blend the banana for too long it becomes bitter, it is for this reason I add it later on in the process.

Lazy Lady’s beetroot, red pepper and tomato soup

1 small beetroot, quartered

1 red pepper, deseeded and roughly chopped

1 small red onion, peel and quartered

1 clove of garlic peeled

4 medium tomatoes, halved

2.5 cups of filtered water

3 sprigs of fresh basil

salt and pepper to taste

Add all the ingredients save the seasoning and basil to a cooking pot and simmer until the beetroot become soft to the touch of a knife, this will probably take around 20-30minutes. Allow to cool before blending along with the seasoning and basil until smooth.

Enjoy and let me know how it goes!
